A delegation from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), headed by Chancellor Gene Block, visited Kyoto University on July 3, 2023. They met with President Nagahiro Minato, Prof. Kaoru Kitajima (director of the Kyoto University North American Center), Prof. Motonari Uesugi, (director of the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences [iCeMS]), Prof. Fuyuhiko Tamanoi (iCeMS), Prof. Jun Suzuki (deputy-director of iCeMS), Prof. Hiroshi Harada (Graduate School of Biostudies) and Prof. Minoru Suzuki (Institute for Integrated Radiation and Nuclear Science [KURNS]). During the meeting the professors described the research being conducted at their respective institutions, and the development of further research collaboration between UCLA and Kyoto University was discussed.
