VP Kono Visits National Science and Technology Development Agency and Asian Institute of Technology (August 10, 2018)

On August 10, 2018, Prof. Yasuyuki Kono, vice-president for international strategy, Dr. Junji Yamamoto, director-general for international strategy, and Dr. Mamoru Shibayama, director of the Kyoto University ASEAN Center visited the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in Thailand and met with Dr. Chadamas Thuvasethakul, executive vice-president and Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, vice-president for international collaboration. In addition to being Prof. Kono’s first visit to the NSTDA in his recently appointed role as vice-president for international strategy, the meeting also served as an opportunity to discuss the development of research and education collaboration between the NSTDA and Kyoto University.

Afterwards, the Kyoto University delegates visited the Asian Institute of Technology and met with Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul, dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, and Prof. Rajendra P. Shrestha, dean of the School of Environment, Resources and Development to discuss the potential development of student exchange and research collaboration.
