President Yamagiwa Visits National Taiwan University (October 15, 2018)

A delegation from Kyoto University headed by President Juichi Yamagiwa visited National Taiwan University (NTU) on October 15, 2018. In addition to President Yamagiwa, the delegation consisted of Prof. Shinsuke Kawazoe, executive vice-president for student affairs and library services, Prof. Masao Kitano, executive vice-president for education, information infrastructure, and evaluation, Mr. Masanobu Morita, executive vice-president for general affairs and personnel, Prof. Yoshihiro Tokuga, vice-president for university fund administration and alumni affairs, and several other faculty members.

The delegation met with Prof. Tei-Wei Kuo, NTU’s interim president, Dr. Luisa Shu-Ying Chang, vice-president for international affairs, and approximately forty faculty members who are engaged in research collaboration with Kyoto University to discuss the current status of collaboration between the two universities.

The visit also enabled the Kyoto University delegates to learn about NTU’s history and current research endeavors during tours of the NTU History Gallery and Museum of Zoology. At the NTU History Gallery, a virtual reality exhibition showcasing the collection of NTU’s Museum of Anthropology was presented by a museum faculty member.
