Delegation from the Pontifical Academy for Life visits Kyoto University (July 8, 2024)

A delegation from the Pontifical Academy for Life, headed by President Vincenzo Paglia, visited Kyoto University on July 8, 2024. They met with President Nagahiro Minato, Prof. Tetsuo Sawaragi (executive vice-president for research ethics, integrity, code of conduct, and international affairs), Prof. Takashi Hikihara (executive vice-president for information infrastructure and library), Prof. Shinya Yamanaka (director emeritus, Center for iPS Cell Research and Application), Prof. Tatsuhiko Inatani (Graduate School of Law) and Prof. Fumiko Obata (Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies). During the meeting, the participants engaged in a lively discussion on AI technology centered on the Pontifical Academy for Life’s “Rome Call for AI Ethics.”
