President Gilles Bloch of Université Paris-Saclay and Prof. Keitaro Nakatani, vice-president for research, École Normale Supérieure de Paris-Saclay (ENS Paris-Saclay) visited Kyoto University on May 18, 2017. Université Paris-Saclay is composed of nineteen universities and research institutions including ENS Paris-Saclay. The delegation met with President Juichi Yamagiwa, Prof. Kayo Inaba, executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations, Prof. Nagahiro Minato, executive vice-president for research, planning, and hospital administration, Prof. Michinori Suginome, assistant to the executive vice-president for education, and Prof. Yukari Mitsuhashi, vice-director of the International Strategy Office to discuss strengthening the partnership between the two universities.
Afterwards, a signing ceremony was held for the conclusion of an academic cooperation and exchange agreement between Kyoto University and ENS Paris-Saclay. The memorandum is anticipated to facilitate collaboration between the two universities, including joint research and student exchange.
