Ambassador of Sweden in Japan visits Kyoto University (December 12, 2017)

On December 12, 2017, H.E. Mr. Magnus Robach, ambassador of Sweden in Japan visited Kyoto University and met with President Juichi Yamagiwa and Prof. Shoji Hirata, dean of the Graduate School of Letters. Afterwards, H.E. Mr. Robach gave an opening speech at a lecture, organized by the Graduate School of Letters, titled “Science, Humanities, and Art at the Beginning of the 20th Century—An Encounter in Kyoto: Sven Hedin’s Illustrations from Tibet and the Legacy Left in the College of Letters, Kyoto Imperial University.”

An exhibition of the same name is also being held at the Exhibition Room in the Kyoto University Clock Tower Centennial Hall until December 17, 2017.
