A delegation consisting of presidents, chancellors, and vice-presidents from seventeen German universities and the DAAD (Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst) visited Kyoto University on March 23, 2018, as a part of a tour of Japanese institutions organized by the DAAD.
The delegation visited the Heidelberg University Office, Kyoto and the Historical Exhibition Room in the Clock Tower Centennial Hall. They then met with Prof. Nagahiro Minato, provost and executive vice-president for strategy coordination, research, planning, and hospital administration, Prof. Hajime Kita, director of the Institute for Information Management and Communication, and Prof. Yukari Mitsuhashi, vice-director of the International Strategy Office to discuss the roles of the provost, university management, and initiatives for digitalization at Kyoto University and universities in Germany.
