A delegation from Kyoto University, headed by President Nagahiro Minato, visited the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) on February 28, 2023.
The delegation, which included Prof. Masatoshi Hagiwara (Graduate School of Medicine) and Prof. Kaoru Kitajima (deputy executive vice-president and director of the North American Center), met with Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla, Dr. Corinne Peek-Asa (vice-chancellor for research), Dr. John Carethers (vice-chancellor for health sciences), and Ms. Miwako Waga (director of International Outreach, Office of Research Affairs).
Kyoto University and UCSD jointly operate an on-site laboratory in San Diego. During the meeting, the delegates discussed the ongoing research and education exchange between the two universities and the development of business-related collaboration.
