Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) visits Kyoto University (October 25, 2023)

On October 25, 2023, H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN and H.E. Mr. Masahiko Kiya, Ambassador of the Mission of Japan to ASEAN visited Kyoto University. H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn delivered a special lecture at Kyoto University’s Clock Tower Centennial Hall to commemorate the 50^th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan friendship and cooperation. The visiting delegates also met with President Nagahiro Minato, Prof. Fumiharu Mieno (director of the Center for Southeast Asian Area Studies), Prof. Shinya Takeda (dean of the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies), and Assoc. Prof. Yoshihiro Nakanishi (Center for Southeast Asian Area Studies) to discuss the development of research and education collaboration between the ASEAN member states and Japan.
