On November 8, 2023, Dr. Richard Pazdur, director of the FDA’s Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) visited Kyoto University. Director Pazdur met with President Nagahiro Minato, Mr. Asonuma Shinji (director-general, Kyoto University Open Innovation Institute), Prof. Manabu Muto (director, Kyoto University Hospital Cancer Center), and Prof. Sumimasa Nagai (director, Department of Medical Development, Institute for Advancement of Clinical and Translational Science (iACT), Kyoto University Hospital). During the meeting, the delegates discussed the changing role of universities in Japan and the US, and the importance of international collaborative research.
