On November 16, 2023, Ms. Beth Bechdol, deputy director-general of the FAO visited Kyoto University. Ms. Bechdol met with Prof. Yasuyuki Kono (vice-president for international strategy), Prof. Shigeki Sawayama (dean of the Graduate School of Agriculture) and Prof. Ryutaro Tao (vice-dean of the Graduate School of Agriculture) to discuss research collaboration between the FAO and Kyoto University.
