On December 12, 2024, a delegation from the University of Florida, headed by Associate Provost Marta Wayne visited Kyoto University. They met with President Nagahiro Minato, Prof. Tetsuo Sawaragi (executive vice-president for research ethics, integrity, code of conduct, and international affairs), Prof. Yasuyuki Kono (vice-president for international strategy), and Prof. Kaoru Kitajima (deputy executive vice-president and director of the Kyoto University North American Center) to discuss the further development of education and research collaboration.
In addition, a signing ceremony was held to renew the academic cooperation and exchange agreement between the University of Florida and Kyoto University. It is anticipated that the renewal of the agreement will promote further research collaboration between the two universities.
