On September 17, 2018, Dr. Kayo Inaba, executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations, visited the University of Leeds in the UK to attend the University of Leeds-Kyoto University International Symposium. During her visit, she met with Vice-Chancellor Sir Alan Langlands to discuss the further development of academic cooperation between the two universities.
