On October 26, 2023, a delegation from Kyoto University headed by Prof. Kyoko Inagaki (executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and external affairs), Prof. Yasuyuki Kono (vice-president for international strategy), and Prof. Eiji Nawata (director of the ASEAN Center) visited the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia and met with Mr. Kenji Kanasugi, the Japanese ambassador to Indonesia, and Mr. Hisamichi Yamazaki, first secretary of science and technology affairs. At the beginning of the meeting, Vice-President Kono provided an overview of Kyoto University’s activities and research projects in the ASEAN region. The delegates then discussed the importance of promoting science and technology collaboration, industrial collaboration, and the exchange of human resources between Japan and Indonesia.
