On February 28, 2024, a delegation from Kyoto University comprising Prof. Kyoko Inagaki (executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and external affairs), Prof. Eiji Nawata (director of the ASEAN Center), and others visited Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Vietnam.
The delegation met with President Huynh Quyet Thang and faculty members of HUST, some of whom are Kyoto University alumni. During the meeting, the HUST delegates provided an overview of the university’s activities, including its newly established School of Chemistry and Life Sciences. The meeting was also attended by representatives of Kyoto University’s alumni associations in the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos, who served as panelists at the 19th Southeast Asia Network Forum, which was held on the same day. The meeting participants discussed research and student exchange between Kyoto University and institutions in Vietnam and other countries in the ASEAN region.
