Prof. Yasuyuki Kono (vice-president for international strategy) attended the ASEAN-Japan Workshop, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand on June 27, 2024. The workshop was jointly hosted by the STS forum and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) as an international conference on science and technology.
The theme of this year’s workshop was “For the next 50 years of ASEAN-Japan Science and Technology Cooperation,” and it featured presentations and panel discussions dedicated the following three topics:
・Strategy on AI application
・HRD on green talent for industry and research
・How to nurture start-ups
Prof. Kono participated in the session titled “HRD on green talent for industry and research,” which was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapan Laiprakobsup, and discussed the session’s topics as one of seven panelists.
It is anticipated that the workshop will promote further cooperation between Japan and ASEAN countries, and broaden research exchange and personnel mobility between universities and research institutions in the region.
