On March 20, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for academic cooperation and exchange was concluded between Kyoto University and Can Tho University, Vietnam.
Located in Can Tho City in southern Vietnam, Can Tho University is recognized as a leading research institution in the fields of agriculture, science, environmental resources, fisheries science, and engineering.
The signing ceremony for the MOU was held at Kyoto University, and was attended by President Nagahiro Minato, Prof. Yasuyuki Kono (vice-president for international strategy), Prof. Shinya Takeda (dean of the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies), and five other faculty members. The delegation from Can Tho University consisted of Rector Ha Thanh Toan, Vice Rector Tran Ngoc Hai, and four faculty members. During the ceremony, the participants discussed the future of research collaboration and student exchange between the two institutions.
