Memorandum for Academic Cooperation and Exchange Concluded with Solomon Islands National University (July 17, 2024)

A memorandum for academic cooperation and exchange between Kyoto University and Solomon Islands National University (SINU) was concluded at an online signing ceremony on July 17, 2024.

SINU is the only higher education institution in the Solomon Islands and one of the largest universities in the South Pacific island region. It is a comprehensive university that hosts students from neighboring countries and is widely responsible for education and research throughout the region.

Prof. Yasuyuki Kono (vice-president for international strategy), Prof. Gen Yamakoshi (director of the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies [ASAFAS]) and Prof. Takuro Furusawa (ASAFAS) attended the ceremony on behalf of Kyoto University. The SINU delegates included Vice-Chancellor Transform Aqorau and others.
