Prof. Vladimír Šucha, director-general of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, visited Kyoto University on October 2, 2017. He met with Prof. Nagahiro Minato, executive vice-president for research, planning, and hospital administration, Prof. Yukari Mitsuhashi, vice-director of the International Strategy Office, and Prof. Norio Maki, vice-director of the Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI). DPRI concluded an academic exchange agreement with JRC in 2011. During the meeting, they discussed the further academic collaboration between the two institutions.
