President Yamagiwa Attends the Signing Ceremony for an Academic Cooperation and Exchange Agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (January 14, 2016)

A signing ceremony to conclude an academic cooperation and exchange agreement between Kyoto University and the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) was held in the President’s Meeting Room of Kyoto University on January 14, 2016. The signing ceremony was attended by President Juichi Yamagiwa of Kyoto University, Prof. Kayo Inaba, executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations, Prof. Hisashi Miyagawa, dean of the Graduate School of Agriculture,Prof. Kaoru Takara, director of the Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Prof. Shigeo Fuji, dean of the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies,and a delegation from IITG led by Prof. Subashisa Dutta, attending on behalf of IITG’s director, Prof. Gautam Biswas. The conclusion of the university-level memorandum is anticipated to significantly advance collaboration between the two institutions, including existing joint research projects by Kyoto University’s Disaster Prevention Research Institute, as well as deepen academic exchange between India and Japan.
