Memorandum for Academic Cooperation and Exchange Concluded with Addis Ababa University (September 20, 2017)

On September 20, 2017, President Juichi Yamagiwa and Executive Vice-President Kayo Inaba visited Ethiopia and attended a signing ceremony to conclude an academic cooperation and exchange agreement between Kyoto University and Addis Ababa University.

Kyoto University’s Center for African Area Studies and Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies are engaged in academic collaboration with Addis Ababa University in fields such as cultural anthropology and geology. The conclusion of the agreement will facilitate the further development of the collaboration, including an expansion of field research, and contribute to the development of student exchange.

After the signing ceremony, President Yamagiwa and Executive Vice-President Inaba attended a meeting of the Kyoto University African Alumni Association, which was attended by both African alumni and Japanese alumni working in Africa.
