第12回 APRUマルチハザードシンポジウム

The 12th APRU Multi-Hazards Symposium 2016

Role of Science and Technology in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction

Organized by
Kyoto University
Date: March 7-8, 2016
Venue: International Science Innovation Building, Kyoto University

The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is a network of 45 premier research universities from 16 economies around the Pacific Rim region. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) is one of the major concerns from the Region and APRU has been organizing an annual symposium on DRR over the past decade.
The UN World Conference on DRR was held in Sendai in March 2015 and a new international DRR framework “the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR)” was adopted at the Conference. This Symposium aims to review each priority of action and discuss the role of academia to implement the SFA and what needs to be done in collaboration with other stakeholders. Under each session, two working groups will be formed. Thus, there are fours sessions planned in the workshop. Each of these sessions will have two parallel sessions.
