KyotoU North American Center opens in Washington DC (15 October 2018)

On 15 October 2018, Kyoto University’s North American Center, established on the first of the month in Washington DC, commenced operations with Associate Professor Nathan Badenoch of the International Strategy Office serving as its first director.

The new office is primarily tasked with enhancing the University’s presence in North America, supporting international collaborative activities of the University’s faculties and departments, and gathering and analyzing information about academic, educational, and student exchange activities.

Washington DC is home to numerous education and research institutions, as well as various Japanese governmental organizations. Starting from its base on the US East Coast, the North American Center will help Kyoto University strengthen its networks and widely disseminate its education and research outcomes in this key region.

We will hold a ceremony to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the center on November 20, 2019.
