European Center (Heidelberg)
The European Center was opened in May 2014. Since October 2025 it is located in the heart of Heidelberg’s Old Town near the Old Bridge, neighboring the Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) and the famous “Hotel zum Ritter”. Directions to the European Center from Frankfurt Airport and Heidelberg Main Station are available below.
If you have difficulties finding your way to our facilities once you arrive at the building, please call or email us. We will be happy to pick you up to greet you.

From Frankfurt Airport to Heidelberg
1. Train (approx. 1h)
Frankfurt Airport Station (Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf) – change at Mannheim Hbf – Heidelberg Hbf

2. TLS （Transfer & Limousine Service) (reservation necessary, approx. 1h)
MEETING-POINT at Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1 Hall B or Terminal 2 Hall E）for Heidelberg (Inner City).
We advise you to make a reservation at least 2 days in advance.

Direct shuttle buses operate every 1-2 hours departing from the front of Hilton Hotel (Kurfürsten Anlage 1).
From Heidelberg Central Station to Kyoto University European Center
Public Transport
Route A
・Heidelberg Main Station: Bus No. 35 (Platform Steig C → “Neckargemünd, Bildungzentrum”, approx. 20 mins)
・Get off at the destination which is announced as “Alte Brücke” (Old Bridge)
・Climb the stairs right next to at the bus stop “Alte Brücke” and head towards the bridge.
・Turn into the first street on the right (Haspelgasse) and head towards Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit)
・The entrance to Kyoto University European Center is on the opposite side of the church portal

Route B
・Heidelberg Main Station: Bus No. 20 (Platform Steig C → “Heidelberg, S-Bf. Altstadt”, approx. 20 mins)
・The destination is announced as “Rathaus/Bergbahn” (Old Bridge)
・From bus stop “Rathaus/Bergbahn” go through one of the alleys leading away from the hill to the square. The Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) will be on your left.
・Walk to the front/clock tower of Heiliggeistkirche (Church of the Holy Spirit)
・The entrance to Kyoto University European Center is on the opposite side of the church portal
