The 8th DNA for ECRs (Doitsu-Nihon Academy for ECRs) workshop was held at Kyoto University (June 20, 21, 2025)

A two-day workshop titled ‘DNA for ECRs’ (Doitsu-Nihon Academy for Early Career Researchers) was co-hosted by the Kyoto University European Center and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in collaboration with the Kyoto University Office of Research Acceleration . This eighth event of its kind took place at Kyoto University on 20 and 21 June 2025.

Under the theme “Building Meaningful Connections: A Guide to Collaborative Networking for Researchers,” a total of 16 participants, including students from Kyoto University and DAAD scholarship recipients, attended the workshop. The workshop was led by Irina Filonova of “The PhD Whisperer,” an agency supporting PhD students. The participants, comprising undergraduate and postgraduate students from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds, engaged in group activities.  These activities taught participants how to introduce themselves and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people,  and network with a wide range of individuals.

Additionally, two follow-up online meetings are scheduled to take place after the workshop.
