3. Kyoto Tag(1/28・Cologne)

On January 28th, Kyoto University European Center participated at the 3. Kyoto Tag, which was held at the Japanese Culture Center in Cologne. At our booth, we promoted the activities of Kyoto University European Center together with Sabine Schenk introducing her work at Heidelberg University Office, Kyoto. We were accompanied by five Kyoto University students studying at different universities in Germany, who shared their experience at Kyoto University and their daily lifes in Germany and Kyoto in German.

The “Kyoto-Tag” was introduced in 2015 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Cologne and Kyoto becoming sister cities. In the rooms next to our information stand, taiko drum performances and other items of Japanese culture were presented. But Kyoto was also presented as a city of innovation by companies like Shimayu and Kyocera – and of cause our booth.

An article on this event and our office will be published on March 17th by News Digest, a magazine for Japanese living in Germany.
