Sweden-Kyoto Symposium


Kyoto University jointly organized the Sweden-Kyoto Symposium in Stockholm on September 11 and 12, 2014 with four institutions in Sweden; Stockholm University, Uppsala University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan), and Karolinska Institutet.

This symposium aimed to disseminate the research outcomes and to promote joint research with overseas institutions. Over 150 participants were involved in the two-days symposium.

The program of first day included facts and figures of each university, and Keynote lecture by professor Kitagawa (ICeMS, Kyoto university). At the second day, 10 sessions were held at 4 partner universities on the various field of research such as energy,bio-informatics, life science, philosophy, and etc.

The intellectual network achieved by this symposium is expected to lead sustainable cooperation between Japanese and Swedish institutions in the research and education.
