DNA for ECRs: “Expanding Your Reach: A Primer to Networking for Early Career Researchers” (Kyoto | 21–22 June 2024)


In today’s global science landscape, international collaboration is key to success for researchers. Effective networking, intercultural understanding, and international team management are crucial skills. The DNA for ECRs ” Expanding your Reach: A Primer to Networking and Collaboration for Early Career Researchers ” equips young researchers for all three. 

The workshop will be held at Kyoto University for undergraduate to postgraduate students (maximum of 16 participants in total, up to 8 participants from Kyoto University, 4 slots reserved for female students).

Expanding Your Reach: A Primer to Networking for Early Career Researchers

Learning Objectives

  • Identify common networking challenges for researchers and strategies to overcome them.
  • Discover a practical framework and tools for building professional relationships.
  • Develop clear and confident messages to engage various audiences.
  • Practice newly acquired skills and receive instant feedback from both peers and the facilitator.

Eligibility etc.

  • Students at Kyoto University (BA, MA, PhD)
  • Participation in the full program is required.
  • 4 out of 8 slots are reserved for female students
