The 14th Southeast Asia Network Forum 2019

Kyoto University ASEAN Center attended the 14th Southeast Asia Network Forum 2019 in conjunction with 5th International Sustainable Technology, Energy and Civilization Conference (ISTECC) 2019.

On 16 October 2019, Kyoto University toagether with Kyoto Alumni Association Malaysia co-organized 14th Southeast Asia Network Forum 2019 at Putrajaya Marriot Hotel, Malaysia.

The forum opened with welcoming remark from Dr. Muhammad Hakimi Bin Mohd Shafai, Chairman of Kyoto Alumni Association Malaysia (MYKYOTO), and Dr. Kayo Inaba, Kyoto University’s executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations, Kyoto University.

This time it was an honored to have YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Syed Jaafar Albar, Former Foreign Minister of Malaysia, for giving an opening session to share the perspectives of current directions for more understanding about circumstances in Malaysia.

The forum was continued with  2 keynote speakers: Prof. Dr. Masahiro Chigara,  Disaster Prevention Research Insititute, Kyoto University, and Prof. Dr. Armad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), University Sains Malaysia.

There was also a discussion forum moderated by Dr. Zul Liham Bin Zulkiflee Lubes, University of Malaya, Deputy Chairman of MYKYOTO to discuss in the topic of “Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Asian Country” with the representatives from Kyoto University, ASEAN Center of Energy, and Research Technical management Malaysian Public Works Department.
