Information Session for Exchange Students going to Kyoto 2019 (July 17, Heidelberg)

The Kyoto University European Center held an Information Session for Exchange Students on 17 July 2018 at Heidelberg University. The session is organized annually in July for students who are planning to study at Kyoto University or who are curious about studying in Japan.

The session got started with greetings by Prof. Kono Yasuyuki, director of the Kyoto University European Center (KUEC). Afterwards, students and staff members gave captivating and helpful presentations containing information such as an overview of Kyoto University and the KUEC, the support system for exchange students by Heidelberg University Office Kyoto (HUOK). Kyoto University students currently in Germany gave advice on how to manage student and daily life form student’s the point of view. We also provided basic information necessary for studying abroad from administrative procedures to last minute funding opportunities.
We were happy to see that in between and after the presentations students enthusiastically talk to each other, to Japanese students and to staffs expressing their enthusiasm about going abroad.
We also organized a get together meeting before the session for the first time. Participants and staffs actively exchanged information and experiences even though the meeting was held before the main event. Participants came from many areas in Germany, from Berlin in the north to Munich in the south.
Kyoto University European Center is keen to organize events such as this information session in order to support students and researchers from all over Europe!
Please feel free to contact us, if you have questions about studying at Kyoto University anytime.
