The fourth faculty development (FD) symposium of Kyoto University’s Re-Inventing Japan Project “Consortium for International Human Resource Development for Disaster-Resilient Countries – Based on the Experiences of Disaster Recovery” is scheduled for January 10, 2016.
Since 2012, the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University has been developing the Re-Inventing Japan Project “Consortium for International Human Resource Development for Disaster-Resilient Countries – Based on the Experiences of Disaster Recovery” under the leadership of Professor Hiroyasu Ohtsu. We have managed the project with a view toward promoting mutual exchange between students through short-term overseas education and international collaboration lectures by young faculties in six ASEAN alliance universities of four countries: the Asian Institute of Technology; Chulalongkorn University; Kasetsart University; Institut Teknologi Bandung; Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and the University of Malaya. The project is intended to develop human resources responsible for building a resilient country and able to take action internationally, making the best use of experiences accumulated in the process of recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake through mutual exchange with ASEAN countries where natural disasters are frequent. Because FY2015 is the final year of the project, the fourth FD symposium will summarize past achievements and discuss future prospects.
Date: January 10 (Sun), 2016
Venue: The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok, in Bangkok, Thailand
